Studio Lighting on Location – Joerg will discuss studio fundamentals and demonstrate different lights and light modifiers in two different sets on location in a beautiful boutique hotel in Downtown San Francisco. You will also receive a copy of Joerg’s lighting set up diagrams so you can later review and duplicate what you learn.

Lunch catered (also, access to coffee, goodies and espresso all day)

Styling and Posing for Fashion and Boudoir Sessions – both Kim & Joerg will teach you how to make your subjects feel and look their best! We will demonstrate corrective posing for various body types to give you better preparation for your next session!

Processing and Retouching for Fashion & Boudoir Images – learn tips for finessing and finishing beautiful images from Cottage Industry Lightroom preset creator Kim Sayre, and receive a special set of Lightroom presets developed for this location to apply to your own images, as well as a boudoir album template to get you on your way to creating great products for your own clients!

Optional after-workshop image review session at the adorable Sugar Café, where Kim & Joerg will be happy to review and critique your own images from the shoot! Bring your laptops, card readers & images from the workshop! Cocktails, Coffee, and sweet snacks available a la carte.

Ok, y'all... let me share with you a real timesaver for me in my workflow... I was on the early beta team for Mike D's Proofmaker Script, and it has saved me literally months of time in the past few years. He has just come out with Version 3, and it's better than ever!!! Create custom sized web images to upload to your website galleries in record time? done! Create bordered proof prints for your clients with the image number and your copyright information on it? done! Seriously, I can't say enough!

Be sure to check out his other products too - sloppy borders and Autoloader (which is another script that has saved me hours of time while processing a group of images in Photoshop!)

Adobe Lightroom 2.0 is here - Cottage Industry pre-sets and textures work wonders

First of all, I am so excited that the 2.0 version of Adobe Lightroom has been released. There are so many new and exciting features, and, yes, a few bugs here and there. I still highly recommend it, especially if you never purchased version 1.x. It has speeded up my workflow dramatically, as well as taken my artistic pursuits to a whole other level. Cottage Industry has a fantastic set of Lightroom Pre-Sets that are made for today's photographers. Punchy color, special effects, and this dramatic warm toned infrared black and white which some of our customers say is worth the price of the whole set... This image was a throw away image... the "before" is ghastly, but with this preset and one of Cottage Industry's damask textiles as a texture, I think it feels mysterious and moody in an elegant sort of way.

Always new and exciting products here at Cottage Industry Designs!!! I have just finished this fantastic kid's room sign design with a delicious Design Aglow album page as a template. The images was taken by my new BFF, Jennifer Wilson from Southern California. She's an amazing children's photographer with so much heart and soul, and I love the poppy colors and natural expressions in her work! This is going to be acrylic wall art that attaches to the wall with 4 silver posts... very modern and perfect for a little kids room! Plus, it's secured to the wall, so for those of us in earthquake country, one less thing to worry about... I am working on some new templates for this product that will be available shortly in the Cottage Industry Designs store. They will be original designs that take the silver posts into account so you can just drag and drop your images to really make a WOW presentation that many contemporary boutique studios are offering!

Album Design using Cottage Industry Textures!

Hi there,

I just finished this album today, and wanted to share a few spreads that feature Cottage Industry Textures and Lightroom Presets. This wedding was in October 2007, and was the first wedding I ever processed completely in Adobe Lightroom. The couple is one of my favorites of all time, and the venues were completely amazing: The Carmel Mission and The Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. So, going into it, I knew it would be a great album, but adding the textures to the images processed with the presets just kicked it over the top for me. Here are a couple of my favorite spreads... The whole album is here.
